Government Primary Principals Speak Out in Support of an Equitable Education for All Students

The Australian Government Primary Principals Association (AGPPA) strongly supports the principle that Australia provides accessible education to all, including the provision of full funding under Gonski guidelines.

AGPPA has rejected the recent suggestion in the Federal LNP green paper that a ‘means test’ be applied for fee payment in public schools.

“Public education must be a resourced and freely available to all students across Australia ” said AGPPA President, Gabrielle Leigh.

“We strongly support the outcomes of the Gonski review, re-iterated again this week by Gonski panel member Dr Ken Boston, that recommend the funding of schools according to student need.

The Federal LNP Government must honour their pre-election commitment to fully fund education under the Gonski guidelines over 6 years.”

AGPPA, representing over 5400 government primary schools across all States and Territories of Australia, will be meeting soon in Sydney.
